Should I use a removable or a fixed vagina for my sex doll?

Removable vs. Fixed Vagina For a Sex Doll

Fixed and Removable Vaginas are available for all sex dolls from our range.

Our general recommendation for all other sex doll types is a removable vagina. There are various reasons for this, especially if your doll is TPE or STPE. Every customer has their own preferences, however, and we outline the differences, benefits and drawbacks of each below:

Fixed Vaginas:

  • Fixed Vaginas are moulded as part of the overall doll’s body and just as the name suggests, are fixed as part of that body. They are therefore made of exactly the same TPE or silicone as the rest of your doll.

Previously, this meant that all fixed vaginas were of the same softness and texture as the rest of the doll. With recent advancements, some of the higher end silicone dolls can be made with fixed vaginas that have a softer feel to the rest of their body.

A TPE or STPE doll made from very soft TPE will have a correspondingly soft fixed vagina. The best case scenario for a TPE doll with a fixed vagina is to select the STPE upgrade when ordering, to ensure maximum softness.

  • It should be noted that because a doll body with a fixed vagina is a single unit, should any damage occur to that doll’s vagina, that’s the entire doll damaged.
  • A sex doll with a fixed vagina will also need to be thoroughly cleaned and dried very quickly after use, and this can be a major job.

With a condom, or using a doll with a fixed vagina raw, no matter how careful you are, lubricant will collect inside the vaginal canal. That lubricant will then find its way into the doll’s body, which may contribute to mould and bacterial growth, even with a silicone doll.

  • The tightness and texture of the love doll’s fixed vagina is just that – fixed. The potential insertable girth, and other physical attributes of the passage, cannot be changed simply by changing the removable vaginal insert for one with different texture or diameter.

Removable Vaginas:

  • You can experiment with vagina inserts of different internal girth, texture and softness, depending on your brand of doll. Some companies, like WM Dolls and Zelex for example, have inserts available with openings that differ in width. Inserts for Zelex dolls (excluding the Zelex SLE Series) are available with both different textures and diameter.
  • If you damage your sex doll’s removable vagina, for example if it’s torn, then you can remove, throw away and replace it. This is only an option for a doll with a removable vagina.
  • You do not have to remove the insert and clean it with each use, if you use a Femidom, or female condom. This is also true for sex dolls with fixed vaginas, but this is mentioned here to allay fears of damaging the doll’s body with frequent removal and replacement of the insert.

Some Myths About Fixed Vaginas vs Removable Vaginas:

Realism

There is a myth that abounds in the sex doll public that fixed vaginas are “more realistic”. Neither option is completely realistic, as this part of a woman’s anatomy remains elusive when it comes to replication, but neither option wins over the other here.

The removable inserts have a wall that functions like a vaginal vestibule when they’re in place, which used to make them more realistic. Now, sculpting and moulding techniques have resulted in fixed vaginas that don’t gape as much as vaginas on older models used to, which has improved their aesthetics.

The Removable Vagina Insert Poking Out

There is sometimes confusion when it comes to removable vaginas that comes from the photographs shown on sex doll product pages. On the option for Removable Vaginas, there is sometimes an image of an insert half poking out of the cavity.

This has led to the misconception that this is how the insert is all the time. When the insert is in place inside the doll’s pelvic cavity, the labia close over it, and it disappears from view.

In fact, when the legs of dolls with fixed and removable vaginas are closed, they look pretty much the same.

The Difficulty of Placing a Removable Vagina Insert

Some people are concerned that it’s complicated to place a removable vagina insert. It takes about a minute to put an insert into place, and only slightly longer to remove one, especially with a TPE/STPE doll.

A TPE insert should be covered with oil and then wiggled into the doll’s pelvic cavity. Slight pressure on the doll’s lower abdomen once it’s placed will then expel any air from the cavity.

For silicone dolls, a similar technique may be used, but using baby powder sprinkled onto the insert, as opposed to oil, to make placement easier. Under no circumstances should lubricant be used, as this will create a moist area inside the doll’s pelvic cavity that mould spores and bacteria just love to frolic around in.

Some find that using a rounded wooden rod inserted into the vaginal canal can aid the final placement.

That One, Weird Trick to Avoid Cleanup

After use, cleanup of a doll’s vagina can be a major undertaking, even with an insert. For dolls with removable vaginas, lubricant can still get everywhere, even inside the doll’s pelvic canal. Some owners of dolls with removable vaginas also worry about wear and tear on the opening of the pelvic cavity every time the insert is placed and/or removed.

We do not recommend pulling the insert out with every use. Of course, for a doll that’s been used raw, or with a lubricated condom, this is necessary.

There is, however, a solution for both types of dolls. Instead of using a doll raw  we recommend using a Femidom (female condom). When placed correctly, not only does the Femidom catch any and all fluids that would otherwise spill into the vagina, but it may also prevent any lubrication from making contact with the doll’s body at all.

For dolls with removable vaginas, this eliminates any necessity to take out the insert, and may also remove the need to clean your doll at all after use, as sometimes no body fluids land on the doll at all and are completely isolated inside the Femidom.
